All immigrant ancestors arrived before the American Revolution and played a significant role in the development of our burgeoning nation. In fact, I have identified about two dozen ancestors who were Revolutionary War veterans. Consequently, I am very proud of my patriotic heritage and I truly believe that being called an American is an honor. It is a result of the achievement of my ancestors and words cannot express my gratitude.
Below is a list of some of my ancestors who were the earliest settlers of the Tug River Valley in Central Appalachia and were Revolutionary War Veterans. You can click on any of the names to learn a little more about each ancestor.
